Oh Schrute!

December 10th, 2018

During a game of PITTSBURGH 68, a player commented that the Jack of Zombies looks a bit like Dwight Schrute from The Office – that added a bit of fun to that game for sure!

When the cards above appeared on the movie screen during a recent game, I commented, “What’s better than one Schrute…” These twins reminded me of an original playtest rule that allowed the Director to gain bonus attacks for a throng built with matching cards. A throng with a pair of Schrutes got you two attacks for that throng. Three of a kind got you three attacks from that throng.

A long forgotten rule from the vaults!

Shuffling Dead: Walking Dead S7 E4 Review

November 18th, 2016

Our weekly Walking Dead Three Card Zombie Review!

In “Service” (S7 E4), Negan comes a-knocking at the gates of Alexandria for his first “payment”. He takes all the guns, leaving Rick and the crew without any firepower. That’s a pretty cruel move on Negan’s part – can you imagine playing Pittsburgh 68 without a single gun in the deck?!? In fact, Negan takes sooooo many guns that we had to raid the Roswell 51 card deck just to make the point. So, this week’s Three Card Zombie Review includes a little bonus sneak peek at the new R51 card design. Enjoy!

Shuffling Dead: Walking Dead S7 E3 Review

November 10th, 2016

The Walking Dead Three Card Zombie Review!

In “The Cell” (S7 E3), Daryl finds himself trapped in The Cell(er) being pushed to his Breaking Point by Dwight. He decides to make a Run For It, but fails, and takes a heap of damage from the Saviours (he has got to be out of spoints by now). On a side note, our zombie Bev has been humming the “Easy Street” song all week…

Deryk, Bev, and Ocho, our undead review trio, sum it all up with these three Pittsburgh 68 cards:

Shuffling Dead: Walking Dead S7 E2 Review

November 2nd, 2016

It’s time for our Walking Dead Three Card Zombie Review!

In The Well (Episode 2), Carol awakens in a new place called the Kingdom, a happily-ever-after renaissance faire that is well-fed and zombie free! While its residents are all too willing to drink from the proverbial well and follow-the-leader (King Ezekial), Carol knows that this fantasyland just won’t last. She wants to arm herself and quickly get the heck out of there.

Deryk, Bev, and Ocho, our undead review trio, sum it all up with these three Pittsburgh 68 cards:

The Housewife (Carol), If We Only Had A…, and The Knife.

Shuffling Dead: The Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere

October 27th, 2016

Deryk, Bev, and Ocho (our trio of Pittsburgh 68 shufflers) are trying something new for their Walking Dead episode reviews this season: they will sum up each episode with three cards from the Pittsburgh 68 playing deck.  Here’s their first “three card review” of that brutal Season 7 opener: The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.

(They all think The Bat is going to be pretty prominent this season…)

Pax East 2016 Postcard

May 1st, 2016

PAX East is always non-stop fun and this year was no different! The Shuffling Horror Pittsburgh 68 table was rocking from opening to closing each day. Thanks to all those who played and purchased a copy. It was great making new friends and fans.

There was a lot of excitement for our soon-to-be-released Shuffle Board, the deluxe board that elevates Shuffling Horror’s cinematic vibe. I also revealed some new playing aids (like the Turning Point and Last One Standing cards). I’ll be blogging about these and other new rules that will be included in our summer release, Shuffling Horror: Roswell 51.

Join our GameWick Games Facebook page to hear about our upcoming releases.

Feel free to share this postcard with your friends
and let them know you played P68 at PAX with GameWick Games!

Pittsburgh 68 is a cinematic card-n-dice game that plays like a creepy, classic zombie movie. With each and every turn of a card, the dealt hand reveals horrible events, and players do their best to stay one step ahead of the zombie shuffle. As a group, players try to survive all four reels of the movie… but that will not be easy! To make matters worse, when players are eliminated, they are not out of the action: they shuffle back into the game as zombies in classic Living Dead style!
